Whether or not you are a Queen fan you are probably familiar with at least several of their songs. I'm going to talk about two of them:
- Bohemian Rhapsody
- We Are The Champions
You are probably familiar with these songs because you have heard them hundreds of times. You
may be able to sing them word for word. But the songs are very different.
Look at the lyrics for "Bohemian Rhapsody". If you were to only ever hear this song once, would you have a chance of remembering them? Probably not.
Now look at the lyrics to "We are the Champions". After just hearing that song once you would be able to repeat the main theme - "We Are The Champions!"
It's not that one song is better than the other. It's just that one song is better at helping you remember it after a single listening.
Think about your live training event. Is it structured like "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "We Are The Champions"? Are you creating a live training event that lacks a chorus that people will be repeating as they leave? Remember, you aren't Queen. You can't count on people listening to your songs (or your training presentation) thousands of times.
You get one shot. One live event. What do you want them to remember?
